Making Homemade Weight Loss Shakes

If you find that commercial weight loss shakes are costly and you are not sure about their ingredients, then try making homemade weight loss shakes instead. Homemade weight loss shakes are one of the most popular weight loss supplements because anyone can make them as long as you have the right ingredients, a blender, and some ice. In fact, they may even be helpful for some people compared to other weight loss products being sold in the market.

Simple but healthy

Homemade

Homemade weight loss shakes are simple and easy to make because they do not require any cooking. When you use fruits or vegetables as your main ingredients for homemade weight loss shakes, you can get a healthy serving of all the vitamins and minerals all in one beverage. Furthermore, it can also serve as a replacement for other meals.

Common ingredients

Sometimes, you may need other ingredients to add to your homemade weight loss shakes. It will depend on the type of nutrients your body needs and the kind of energy boost that you want. Here are some common ingredients that you can add to your shake:

o Fruits - these are helpful in getting rid of toxins from the body while providing antioxidants.

o Yogurt or low-fat milk - for your dose of vitamin D and calcium.

o Protein powder - for easier and faster digestion of your food while keeping you full for longer periods of time.

Other ingredients

Additional supplements and vitamins can also be added into your homemade weight loss shakes. Examples are bee pollen, black cohosh, ginko biloba, and dandelion. These ingredients promote healthy liver functions, cleansing of the intestines, more energy for exercise, prevention of fatigue, and prevention of allergies.

The benefits: vitamins and minerals

Freshly made homemade weight loss shakes are good sources of vitamins and minerals that pair up with co-enzymes and enzymes. These vitamins make the enzymes work and without them, our bodily functions will stop.

Enzymes

This is because enzymes work as catalysts in several chemical reactions happening inside our bodies. These chemical reactions are important to carry out digestion and the absorption and conversion of food to body tissue. Furthermore, enzymes are able to produce energy that are important for metabolic activities in our bodies.

The benefits: better vitamin and mineral absorption

When you drink homemade weight loss shakes, your body tends to absorb more vitamins and minerals coming from the fruits or vegetables you added in them, compared to eating them as a whole. This is because a lot of nutrients are trapped within the fiber present in the whole fruit or vegetable. However, by placing them in the blender, you break down the fiber to release the important nutrients.

You need vitamins and minerals

Even when you are on a diet, you still need the right amount of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that your body can take so your organs can still function properly. Furthermore, without the proper dose of those essential nutrients, you can become malnourished. Malnutrition can cause a lot of deficiency disorders and diseases, so make sure that your body is still getting its recommended daily dose of nutrients coming from healthy fruits and vegetables that you can eat whole or blended into homemade shakes. Here are more benefits of the vitamins and minerals you can find in fruits and vegetables:

1. Stronger nails and hair

2. Smoother skin

3. Essential compounds needed for health, physical well-being, metabolism, and health.

4. Maintain bone strength and bone density.

5. Regulation of blood clotting.

6. Aiding the functions of muscles and nerves.

7. Regulation of your heart beat.

8. Reducing risks on heart attacks and strokes.

Tips and tricks for making shakes

To start making your homemade weight loss shake, make sure that your vegetables and fruits are juiced raw. Depending on the fruit, small fruits with seeds can be placed into the blender with the seeds, like pears and watermelons. However, if you are using apples, grapefruit, oranges, nectarines, peaches, or papaya, make sure to remove the seeds or large pits.

Peeled and ripe

Make sure to pick ripe and fresh fruits and vegetables. If they are bruised, wilted, over-ripe, under-ripe, or even rubbery, the shake will end up tasting bad. If the fruit or vegetable is not grown organically, peel off the skins since all the chemical residues can be found on the surface. If you are using pineapples, grapefruit, papaya, kiwis, and oranges, make sure that you also remove their skins.

More tips with the blender and mixture

Vegetables and fruits should be cut into pieces that can easily fit your blender. If they get stuck under the blade while blending, use a spatula to remove the jammed ingredients before proceeding to blend. If your shake is blended evenly, add 2 ice cubes and keep adding them once in a while until it sounds smooth. However, if your blender cannot blend the ice cubes well, substitute them with cold water or cold fruit juice instead. Finally, if your shake is too thin, add more ice or fruit, and more liquid if it is too thick.

Last-Minute Ideas For Homemade Dog Costumes - Part I

Are you ready to start the party and forgot just one little thing - to dress up your pooch, so that he can enjoy and have fun, too?! Here is a quick and easy last-minute dog costume idea!

Please think safety when dressing up your dog in homemade pet costumes. The costume should fit neither too tight, so your dog's movements are not confined, nor too loose, so he does not trip over the costume. Not all dogs are fine with wearing a costume, so if your dog does not like it, take off the costume immediately.

Homemade

This is the easiest homemade dog costume possible, because all you need is:

a T-Shirt that you are willing to sacrifice for your dog (for a smaller dog you may use your child's T-shirt); a needle and a thread; a few safety pins for tailoring; scissors; your dog.

Time required: 15 minutes (excluding time required for choosing the T-shirt).

Instructions on how to make dog costume:

The front of the T-shirt goes on the dog's back, so choose the shirt and decorations on it accordingly.

The easiest way to tailor the shirt is to have your dog standing up right and to put the shirt on the dog. Front paws go through the sleeves and decorations go on the dog's back. It is likely that your shirt would be too large on your dog, so note any excessive parts and pin them down. You will cut them off later. Leave some space at the bottom of the shirt so your dog can relieve himself and not dirty the costume.

Take off the shirt (after you've pinned excessive parts, the shirt should still come off easily). Adjust safety pins as necessary and cut off excessive fabric. Turn your shirt and hand-sew the two parts together. You can even use sewing machine, if you like. Turn back. Your one of homemade pet costumes is ready and now you can get the party started!

Take all the pieces of skirt steak and sprinkle each piece with the sazon and white pepper, once you have this stack the seasoned steaks in a deep dish as you seasoned them, now take the beer and pour it over the steaks. Once you have done this refrigerate for around 2 hours. An while you are doing this preheat the oven or an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil the grate, take the steaks out from the fridge and discard the marinate Now that you have them out cook the steaks on the prepared grill until they are very firm, hot, gray and in the center they are cooked. How to Make Homemade Cornbread For Thanksgiving Meals

During the fall season, we enjoy entertaining our friends and family with a large Thanksgiving holiday meal. We will spend 30 hours cooking and baking a feast for our large family.

One of the items we enjoy baking are some homemade cornbreads. To fit with the theme of my Thanksgiving holiday meal, I use a cast-iron corn bread pan that has cavities that are shaped like small ears of corn. You can pick up this type of baking pan at your local kitchen shop or discount department store for around .00.

Homemade Cookies

Corn Bread Recipe

1 egg
1/2 cup cold milk
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
4 tablespoons granulated sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Lightly spray your cast iron corn bread pan with nonstick cooking spray and let dry for 1 minute.

In a medium-sized bowl, combine a beaten egg with the cold milk and vegetable oil until well combined. In a large-sized bowl, mix together the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder and the granulated sugar. Slowly stir the egg mixture into the flour mixture until all ingredients are wet and well combined. I like to hand stir mine using a silicone spatula so that the batter won't stick to my spoon.

Spoon the batter into your lightly greased baking pan, filling the cavity 90% full. (allow just a little space for expansion.) Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 18-20 minutes or until they are done. The tops should be lightly golden brown in color.

Remove them from the oven and leave them in the baking pan. Place the pan on a wire rack to cool and then remove them from your pan.

Serving Suggestions: We like to serve ours with some apple or honey butter.

Crafting Homemade Signs

Signs can be decorative and found in and around a home. These signs could add character to a home, decorate it, personalize it or present a warm welcome to guests. Sources for these sign are sign making kits, signs using vinyl lettering and store bought signs.

Any signs displayed within a home or outside of the home are one of two different kinds -- homemade or bought. Homemade signs could be made out of crafting materials, such as special pictures made by a child using markers and other craft supplies. These signs can be whatever the home owner wants and can be used as a gift to give. An example is taking pictures and framing them to create a message. This type of sign could be creative ways to display welcome or friendship or family or another word or phrase. Make a letter out of twigs and take a picture or use flowers to make a letter and do something different with each letter using a theme, such as nature. Take a separate picture of each letter or one photo of the whole word. Frame the letter or the word and display this as a special creative sign. This home sign idea is only limited to the creator's imagination.

Homemade

Another homemade option is to purchase a sign making kit. There are many different types of sign making kits. Some signs are designed to be placed outside and others that are better equipment to be placed inside. These sign making kits might be wood carving kit allowing the home owner to personalize their sign. They could use the carving kit to burn their family name into wood or perhaps carve "Welcome" to display on the home's front door. Another kind of sign making kit that would be ideal for decorating a home is needlepoint. These can be created then framed and placed on the wall. There is homemade needle point, such as coming up with a personal saying or deciding to sew the family name and decorations into fabric. Then it is framed is displayed as a sign. These kits help make a sign that is a little more organized because all the tools and instructions are available along with tips to help someone make the creation.

There are also crafting sets that use vinyl letter and number cutouts. These come in a variety of sizes, fonts and colors. They are often creative lettering and pre-made sayings. They are usually easy to apply using an adhesive backing to any flat clean surface, mostly a wall, but windows are possible area as well. A store bought could combine a lot of these ideas, but instead of being homemade they are created by someone else.

There are specialty stores that have signs available for the home. Even though they are made by someone else, they are still elegant. Remember outside home signs should be made of weather resistant material. Common materials are plastic, metal and vinyl signs. Each of these have elements that ensure they will stay nice even after being baked in the sun's rays or covered in snow that will eventually melt and soak the sign. It is important that any ink used is fade resistant and water soluble as well to keep the ink vibrant and in place.

Homemade Halloween Costumes: Start From Scratch and Make Outrageously Funny Homemade Costumes

Moms are busy and mine was no exception. When I was growing up, my mother always waited until the last minute to get us outfits to wear for Halloween. Probably out of necessity, but that is when I discovered how much fun homemade Halloween costumes could be to make.

Leaving our costumes up to Mom usually meant picking out some cheap plastic costume from the local drugstore and going with that. Though this was okay, it was not ideal. One year, my younger brother then in second grade, had to dress up for a school Halloween party.

Homemade

My mother had absolutely no time to help him with an outfit, as she had a newborn. So, I took over making our Halloween costumes from scratch and, I might add, with impressive results! Honestly, I think that is what launched my desire to design costumes for movies.

These days having a boy dress up as a girl is probably a pretty common idea for home made Halloween costumes. Still, it was not quite as common when we were kids - especially in our small Texas town. Actually, it is kind of funny when I look back.

I took some of my old clothes and other things I could find in my room to make my sweet little brother into a very convincing looking girl. About the only thing I had a problem with was his hair since I did not have a girl's wig for him to wear. I did have plenty of everything else for his get-up. One look at him and everyone cracked up with laughter.

If you want to make your own Halloween costumes, you can usually find things around your home to start. You can fill in what you do not have through a variety of inexpensive sources. Check out these inspiring creative costumes. Remember, you are starting from scratch, so get started with that homemade Halloween costume now!

How to Make Homemade Wine With Grape Juice - AND Make it Taste Good!

So - you have just read an article on the internet about how to make wine out of grape juice and sugar. The article tells you to use a balloon and a milk jug and some yeast.

BUT - all of the articles leave out the one real secret to making wine with juice concentrate.

How To Make Homemade Cookies

Acid Content

That's right. The frozen grape juice concentrate you buy at store has about twice the acid content that grapes from vineyards have. If you make wine out of the juice, it will indeed be wine.

But it will taste just like grape juice - complete with pucker power. Yes, it will have alcohol in it, but again, it won't taste anything like wine you are used to drinking. As noted above - it will taste like grape juice with a little kick and that's about it.

So what to do about it? Simple: Neutralize the acid before you put the yeast in.

As I said before, there are hundreds of articles and recipes for making wine from frozen concentrate. I won't go into that here. What I will show you is how to bring out the grape flavor without all that acid pucker pour taste.

Usually, there are about 7/10ths of a gram of acid content per liter of concentrated grape juice (after you have diluted it with water). Your goal is to get the acid content down by about 50%. In other words, you have to neutralize about half of the acid before you start fermenting the wine.

There are two easy, household ways to do this and they both work pretty good without buying any expensive chemicals.

The first is a simple, over the counter antacid. Any generic brand will do. What you are looking for is one that has no flavor and it's only active ingredient is calcium carbonate. Calcium carbonate neutralizes acid (that's why they call it an "antacid").

You should add, as a rule of thumb, 500 milligrams per 1.3 liters. That's about 3.5 Tenths of a gram per liter - enough to neutralize about half of the acid. While this is by no means accurate scientifically, it will get the job done. Just crush the tablets and throw them in your juice and mix it up.

The second easy to find chemical is sodium bicarbonate - baking soda.

Many wine experts recommend against this as it could add a salty taste to your wine but hey, we're making wine from frozen concentrate right? I promise, you won't taste it.

The measurement is a little more difficult here as baking soda comes in a box and most people don't have any kind of measuring tool. Here's a sweet little tip - just put 1 teaspoon per gallon and stir it up. It will neutralize enough of the acid to make a huge difference in taste by the time it's in the bottle.

Now that you know a HUGE insider secret, go buy all the frozen concentrate at the store and get busy!

How to Make a Homemade Music Video

Get a camera. First of all you will need a good camera with a good amount of mega pixels. I would advise you to use at least 8mp or better. Right now I use a Samsung Varioplan witch has a 65x optical soon good for zooming in and out from long distances while I record. I'm not exactly sure why that would come in handy, but hey you never know. Homemade videos are inventive.

Record footage. Ok the next step is to go ahead and record some cool scenes that you want to use in your video. It helps to already have drawn out a basic idea of the video to help keep focused on the look you're going for. Shoot as many scenes as you like, the more the better. Trying looking at some of you favorite music videos to get better ideas of different types of camera angles.

How To Make Homemade Cookies

Video Editing. After you've recorded all the footage you want for your homemade video its time to edit. You do this by using a video editing software like pinnacle studios which you can buy from your local Best Buy or Fry's Electronics. Or if you're like me and you like things a little bit more free you can use Windows Movie Maker on any computer installed with Windows XP or a later version.

To find Windows Movie Maker on you computer just got to the Start menu>All Programs>Windows Movie Maker.

Ok after you've opened the video editing software of your choice load all of you video from you camera to your computer. Then from you computer drag them into the video editor. You should be able to trim clips out of the major shots you made for you homemade video already. Try to make the scenes look very dynamic. Try not to have just one clip playing too long. One thing you'll notice is that in professional music videos the scenes change a lot. It makes everything appear more action packed.

Add Music. While you are editing the clips go ahead and drag the song file to the music you made your homemade music video to and play it as the background music. Make sure you mute all the videos clips because you don't want to actually hear whats going on in the video, it takes away from the illusion of the artist actually singing the music that you hearing.

After that your done. Just finalize your video by saving it, then upload it to the internet for the world to see you new homemade music video!
